Arise India
gave a new dimension to Valentines' Day. Arise India celebrated
14th February 2009 as Valentines' Day - Love Your Country.
All the members and guests pledged to work and live for the
country. the programme was blessed by the presence of Dr. Geeta
Ramanujam, Former Principal, National College, Sri L A Ravi
Subramanya, Sri Sangaati Venkatesh and Sri Anup Selein, a young
music director. Prize winners of the "Bangalore Essay Challenge
2009" - Phase - I were felicitated. The theme of the programme
was Love for the country and youth icons. Invocation dance by
Kumari Muktha and Kumari Varsha and song by Sri. Anup brought a
special essence to the programme. The programme was organised at
the prestigious Dr. H.N. Hall in National College, Basavanagudi.
On 22nd
November, Arise India organised a WALK, walk for the
cause of the construction labourers' children. The main
objective of the walk was to demonstrate in front of the public
and the Government, the need of giving basic education for the
construction labourers' children. A memorandum was submitted to
the Government of Karnataka through Sri L A Ravi Subramanya, honorable
MLA, Basavanagudi. Students from several schools and colleges
participated in the event to make it meaningful and colourful.
The WALK was concluded in the amphi-theater at Bugle Rock,
Basavanagudi in the august presence of Sri Yogeshwarananda
SwamiJi of Sri RamaKrishna Yoga Ashrama, Girinagar.
Membership
drives have been conducted in various colleges which have
resulted in a huge workforce of more than 500 people. On
the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, Arise India participated in
a march led by Sri L A Ravi Subramanya, MLA, Basavanagudi on 1st
November 2008. The purpose of this march was to awaken the
Kannadigas about their duties towards their motherland.
On 14th
September 2008 Arise India conducted its first youth convention
which was attended by a huge gathering, which was addressed by
Mr. H A Jayasimha, Director, Insight, Bangalore. Mr. Jayasimha
addressed the newly inducted members of Arise India about the
importance of concentration and mind power building. It was
followed by an interactive session where the participants
discussed the present issues of national importance.
On the occasion
of Teachers' Day, a program was conducted at Sri Raja
Rajeshwari Vidya Mandira and students were told the importance
of respecting teachers through interactive programs.
In view of
talent search, Arise India Foundation conducted programs in
Swami Vivekananda Vidya Samaste and Sri Raja Rajeshwari Vidya
Mandira, Bangalore for high school students. They were asked to
draw pictures / write essays on the theme of Indian Independence
Day. The three best were selected and awarded on
Independence Day.
